About MattMatthew C. Mani is a lifelong Marin resident and a solo-practitioner family law attorney. He grew up in Novato, where his parents still reside, obtained a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Communications from the University of California at Davis, then attended the Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco where he earned a Juris Doctorate in 1994. After clerking in the San Francisco and Marin Public Defender's Offices, he worked briefly in Novato, then joined a medical malpractice firm in Danville. Two years later he returned to Marin, taking a position with Freitas, McCarthy, MacMahon & Keating in San Rafael, where he and his family settled. While with the Freitas firm, he worked actively in all areas of civil litigation including personal injury, business litigation, real estate litigation, estate litigation, Civil Rights violations, landlord-tenant matters, neighbor disputes, and harassment/restraining orders, while maintaining clients in both the areas of criminal defense and family law. His wish when choosing law as a career was to help people, and he decided after going through is own divorce that he could best do that by focusing his practice on family law.
Mr. Mani is an active and involved parent to his three sons and is engaged with the Marin community. He is a long-time member of the Marin Bar Association, served on the board of his children's school for three years, and regularly participated as a chaperone, coach and volunteer at their schools while they were young. Now that they have moved on to college and graduate school, he enjoys the role of advisor and confidante. In his spare time, Matt takes advantage of all that Marin has to offer, enjoying hiking, tennis, spending time at the gym and trips to the mountains. He enjoys giving to the community and those who need help whenever possible. He and his sons are die-hard 49ers, Giants and Warriors fans, and they attend as many games as possible. |
